If you’re reading this, chances are you collect rent the way I did: a mix of checks, Zelle, and hope. Rent was due on the first. Too often it landed on the ninth, or the twelfth, with a thread of reminder texts in front of it. The late fee showed up eventually. It never changed the next month.

For a long time I treated late rent as a discipline problem. It isn’t one. It’s an incentive problem. Everything else in a tenant’s wallet pays them to be on time. Rent was the one bill that only punished being late.

So I built the other side of it. Rent Streak pays tenants to pay on time: a streak that grows month after month, real rewards when they cash out, and every rule set by the landlord. Late fees don’t change behavior. Streaks do.

This is a young company, and I’m building it in the open with the landlords in our pilot. If you collect rent the way I did, I’d be glad to have you in it.
